Kennedy Center sets year
The Kennedy Center will revive Hungarian playwright Ferenc Molnar's 1910 farce "The Guardsman" next season and host six touring productions including "It of Mormon" and "War Equine," the center's leader Michael Kaiser mentioned Tuesday. Gregory Mosher will direct a completely new translation in the rarely-produced "Guardsman." Most broadly known for your 1924 Broadway production featuring Alfred Lunt and Lynn Fontanne, its sole Broadway visit, together with a follow-up film with the duo in 1931, notifies the story from the insecure husband who hide themselves to check on his wife's fidelity. Named "Nordic Awesome 2013," the fest features a output of Henrik Ibsen's "The Wild Duck" by Oslo's National Theater as well as the Royal Dramatic Theater of Stockholm's "Fanny and Alexander," a stage performance of Ingmar Bergman's Oscar-winning feature film. The monthlong affair may even include Nordic dance, music, film, visual arts and literature components.
