EXCLUSIVE: I’ve found that NBC is finalizing an offer to have an off-cycle pilot order to single-camera comedy Save Me. An order towards the project, from author John Scott Shepherd, The new sony Pictures TV and Neal Morirz’s studio-based Original Films banner, is cast-contingent. Save Me focuses on a lady who, after any sort of accident, begins to think that they is directing God. The project was initially developed at Showtime. Shepherd is executive creating with Original Films’ Moritz and Vivian Cannon in addition to Scott Winant (Californication). Shepherd, whose credits range from the features Joe Somebody and Existence or something like that Enjoy It and also the ABC series The Times, authored this year's ABC drama pilot See Kate Run. This is actually the second project to obtain a pilot order by NBC Entertainment chairman Bob Greenblatt after being initially developed at Showtime. The very first was Smash, which Greenblatt first shepherded in the pay cable network throughout his stint there. At NBC, the musical drama was eventually acquired to series and it is slated for any midseason launch behind reality hit The Voice. Furthermore, Greenblatt and The new sony/Original Film labored together around the Showtime comedy series The Large C. This is actually the secondly then-cycle pilot order to date this year, following ABC’s deal for that Manzanis, a multi-camera family comedy compiled by sitcom veterans Marco Pennette and Dork Flebotte, that has Kirstie Alley mounted on star.
